CD Dyna Cee
2012 AQHA Sorrel Stallion

For two years, we had been looking for a "cowhorse stud" that could meet our high expectations as far as pretty headed, ample bone, good feet and balance, which we were finding was a hard combination to find in the modern bloodlines of the cowhorse world. We had seen a few CD Lights offspring that we felt fit this mold, but had not been able to get our hands on the right one, until Luke found "Lights" in the Snaffle Bit Futurity Sale in Reno in 2013. He was drawn to him in the round pen by his look and movement, and was further impressed when he realized how he was bred. When Luke brought him home, we were also impressed. He met the high expectations we held and we were so excited for his future. Luke started him in January 2014 and took him to the 2015 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. He was a favorite going into the futurity, however, did not make the finals due to tough luck with a cow in the herd work. As disappointing as that was, we were so impressed by his athleticism, work ethic, expression on a cow and willingness to give his all each time he is under saddle, whether it be in the show ring or at home. He currently is an AQHA point earner in cutting, reining, working cow horse ranch riding, performance halter and heeling. He has $16,000+ LTE in NRCHA and $1m500+ LTE in NRHA. We are looking forward to his first foal crop this spring, with 12 expected foals! Lights will continue getting shown in 2017 and will stand at Abraham's Equine Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa while needed during the breeding season. Foals eligible for South Dakota Stallion Stakes and Iowa Breeders Cutting Futurity.

2013 AQHA Grey Stallion

We purchased "Joe" as a weanling at the Pitzer Ranch Fall Sale in 2013, from Terry and Mary Mailander. He is out of their great mare, Seven S Gunsan Roses, who was 9th in the AQHA World Show in 2007 in Jr. Heading shown by Mark Wray and was a qualifier and point earner in heeling and tie-down roping. Joe is sired by 2011 Sr. Heading World Champion, Show Me A Song Joes. He was another one that we were extremely attracted to by his looks and conformation prior to knowing how he was bred. Luke started him in February 2014 with the intention of showing him at the 2016 Snaffle Bit Futurity. He was progressing very well in his cow horse training, but unfortunately grew a little more than we expected. Despite his size, he was still on track for the Futurity, however we decided his size would be too much of a disadvantage for him at the Futurity. After a few months off after his strenuous training as a two year old, Joe had two months of reining training with Ross Barnette. before returning to Luke's to begin rope horse training. Joe made his AQHA rope horse show debut in Lincoln, NE in January of 2017 and picked up his first 5 pts in the heading. Joe will continue to be shown in the heading, heeling and hopefully tie-down in 2017. Throughout his training at Luke's, they have had a lot of good things to say about him. His is very willing and trainable. He also has some very unique looks about him. He was born grey, however now appears to be buckskin with the dun gene, so he expresses the dorsal stripe and barring on his legs. Due to the fact that he possesses three of the color genes, there will be a ton of opportunity for color in his foals in the future. We will be breeding a select group of mares in 2017 and then standing him to the public in 2018.

2014 AQHA Bay Mare

"Bambi" is a daughter of Rey Dual (LTE $123,440, full brother to Dual Rey) and out of Imalilglamourgirl (LTE $9,086). We bought this filly as a yearling and have had her in training with Luke Jones Performance Horses since April 2016. Bambi has had a big stop and a lot of natural cow from the get go. She was Reserve Champion at the 2017 Working Western Celebration NRCHA Futurity with Luke Jones. She competed at the 2017 NRCHA Futurity with Dell Hendricks, where she ended up 9th in L1. Bambi will continue to be shown in 2018 in the cow horse as well as the AQHA roping events eventually. She has NRCHA LTE of $3,200 so far.
